A little over a year ago, I decided to take a shot at selling a digital product: I put together an article on my blog on how to install an SSL certificate on a WordPress site, The Green Padlock, created a PDF with no Kindle version, and did a little marketing. (OK, I did no marketing aside from mentioning it on my Facebook posts & page.)

To my surprise it sold thousands of nairas and, as icing on the revenue cake, I received encouraging feedback from people who downloaded the ebook free of charge.

In fact, one of them sent me 1k recharge card in appreciation of the knowledge acquired from the book. While another wrote a wonderful review that I have used on my site over and over again.

I’m Not a Millionaire

But that doesn’t make me a millionaire by creating and selling digital products–in fact, far from it. Had it been I am one, I should probably not be writing this post, but should be on vacation sipping chilled juice with a little umbrella hanging on the side of my cup.
