Comparison between WordPress, Drupal and Joomla

Comparison between WordPress, Drupal and Joomla 1

I started learning HTML in 2007, and in 2008 I built my first HTML website. It was ugly! Thank you very much. I had satisfaction that I built it myself and was?proud of it.

Before I built my first website using HTML (Hypertext Markup Language), I used Microsoft Publisher 2003 to set up a website for the Benue Digital Village, Katsina-Ala ( a partnership project between Microsoft Nigeria, NITDA and Katsina-Ala my local community).
I was the Benue Representative (BR) for the project.

The?website was?neat because I did not have to code anything. I relied on the in-built templates to get the best looks and feel for my site. So it looked quite impressive. More importantly, it served its purpose.

The Challenge

Since the project I was working on required frequent?update of content for?the public through the website I built using MS Publisher, it was not easy keeping my site up to date. I was constantly removing pages, rearranging links and testing them out. I wanted something easy, so that I could concentrate on?my work. Something as easy as Microsoft Word that I am familiar with. That was when a friend introduced me to?Content Management System or CMS. Since then I have used Drupal, Joomla and WordPress for website projects.

In summary, I use and recommend WordPress. The simple reason is that it is user-friendly and flexible. It took me?a shorter?time to get to understand WordPress?and make progress with it than the other CMS that I have mentioned. Nevertheless, the choice is yours to make. But understanding their strong or weak sides will help you make the right decision. That’s what the infographic is trying to do. The ball is now in your court.

Which one among them is your favorite and why? Leave comments below.
